Who we are…

Disability Discovery Association of Kenya (DDAK) is a Society for the persons with
disabilities and/or special conditions/situations (the special conditions/situations
mean people possessing or living as disadvantaged minorities suffering
marginalization and/or discrimination). DDAK is a registered organization by the
Registrar of Societies Kenya and was established in 2018 by Mr. Stephen Kiema (A
Catholic Lay) and Daughters of Jesus the Good Shepherd (A Catholic Women
Religious Congregation) to facilitate the persons with disabilities and/or special
conditions/situations improve and accelerate their active participation in family,
community and national development. It is premised in the belief that there are very
many persons with disabilities and disadvantaged minorities who have been
eclipsed by their environment but have the will to access life opportunities to
become ‘somebodies doing something’ and contribute to life as an expression of
what they are made of.
